Waifu: Faye Valentine

fayevalentine5Faye Valentine is perfect. Her attitude, confidence and bad girl aesthetic is sexy and her unknown past makes her dark and mysterious (which is also sexy). I constantly say over and over again that Cowboy Bebop was a flawless anime and I’m right. If you don’t like it you haven’t watched it.

fayevalentine1Anyway, back to Faye. She was born in 1994 and after an accident she was cryogenically frozen, so she appears 24 but is actually in her 70’s. Not much is known about her past, but a little bit of past her was shown on mysterious beta tapes that were sent to her. Mysterious. She has commitment issues and constantly takes off because she’s afraid they don’t care about her. She doesn’t really trust. It’s never actually said how Jet and Spike feel about her but I get the feeling they like her quite a bit. They’re just too tough to say it. Who wouldn’t like her? I like her.

Faye Valentine Quotes:

  • “They often say that humans can’t live alone. But you can live pretty long by yourself. Instead of feeling alone in a group. It’s better to be alone in your solitude.”
  • “Survival of the fittest is the law of nature. We deceive or we are deceived, thus we flourish or perish. Nothing good ever happened to me when I trusted others. That is the lesson.”fayevalentine2

In my opinion, Faye is a pretty well developed character and she is deserving of the term ~waifu~

  1. Hmm.

She’s very pretty. Also very intelligent, which helps.

On the other hand, she’s not especially loyal. She’s not quite as bright as she thinks she is. She’s a compulsive gambler, a pathological liar, a thief, a manipulator, and a con artist. These do not add up to the “fun” kind of “bad girl.”

Verdict: fun date, if you don’t mind the possibility of waking up minus your wallet and a kidney. Waifu? No.
